New Delhi is the national capital of India and is located in the north-central part of the country, just south of Delhi city. It has a total area of 42.7 square kilometres and is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the world.

Currency
The Indian Rupee is the main currency in New Delhi, just like the rest of India. The Rupee is available in denominations of 1000, 500, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1, with 1 Rupee equalling 100 Paise. Climate
The climate of Delhi is a humid subtropical climate, influenced by the seasonal monsoon. It has long, hot summers and cool, dry winters. The weather in Delhi is pleasant during February, with an average temperature of 17°C. The average maximum for February is 24°C and the average minimum is 11°C.

Language
Hindi is the official language, however English is also widely spoken, especially in the tourist areas and business district. Urdu and Punjabi are other common languages in Delhi.
